Nominalisations in writing

I promised I would post Helen Sword’s video on nominalisations, so here it is.  Her book, Stylish Academic Writing, is superb.  If you get the chance, have a look at it.  She makes the argument that academic writing does not have to be abstract and dull – it can be beautiful to read.
